Hi girls ! I stayed in Grapehouse for two weeks in November 2024.I really felt at home there, though I was concerned that I was going to stay in a dormitory having to share the room with other ladies. The place is safe, clean, warm & cosy, with all the facilities and the location is very convenient. It is within a 10 minute walk from the train station. The dormitory is located in the Koenji district. It is a very quiet and welcoming place with a lot of residential streets. Once you are on the train from Koenji in 8 minutes you are at Shinjuku, a huge station, with a lot of underground shops and restaurants . The public bath experience is another story, it was the best one I have ever tried in my life. Everyone should try it. The convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Family Mart always have a wide selection of snacks and ready-made food that is all very fresh and delicious. Thank you Sanae-san, who is always there to help. I highly recommend Grapehouse for solo travellers.

I am so happy I stayed at Grapehouse Koenji my first trip to Tokyo (nine days)! Sanae has created an amazing place where you feel at home instantely. It's rather a guesthouse than a hostel, meaning that you feel like you are staying in a houseshare where anytime you want to chat, you can talk to someone, but there is also enough privacy and calm to take time for yourself. Everything is furnished cozely and Sanae and her team make sure that the place is always clean. You can also order a tasty Japanese breakfast. The only minor criticism I have would be that the air in the dormitory sometimes gets really stuffy at night, so you might have to talk to the other women there and figure out if the last one to go to bed can leave the door or a window open. Other than that, it's perfect :) Finally, Koenji is an amazing area! Clean, cozy, authentic, many (vintage) shops and restaurants. I highly recommend Rect Sand Café if you're vegan :) Wander around and fall in love with Koenji :)

I had the perfect stay for my first visit to Japan! Koenji is a less touristy area that’s full of vibrant local life! Well connected to the city centre. Lots of vintage shops and izakayas and abundant convenience stores. Evening you need and so much to explore! There are also a few sentos in the neighborhood and I enjoyed the local public bathing experience twice during my visit. The hostel is a perfect place to rest at the end of a busy day, and I met so many friendly people there during my stay. Would absolutely stay here again!

A wonderful place to stay, esp for women who love solo travel l. Upon arrival, I was welcomed by an adorable little white poodle, and all my fatigue disappeared. ^^ The host helped me carry my luggage to the 2nd floor and she provided all the essential information I needed to know to about the place ~ the dorm room, kitchen, laundry, shower, and common areas. She addressed my concerns swiftly~ very accommodating! ^^ The location is just perfect ~ lots of local restaurants, boutiques, vintage shops, cafes, and shopping streets. I was able to do outside Tokyo trips with few transfers and no hassle such as Yokohama, Kawagoe, and Mt. Takao. I highly recommend this place and will stay here again.^^
